Core II: Artist Voice
Core II continues the work in Core I – finding context and subtext, agreement, raising the stakes, and introduces the idea a character and developing your own voice. What are your experiences, biases, expertise, etc. We look at such things as status, point of view, emotional life, wants and needs. We look at playing characters that agree with your point of view, and those that don’t. We look at how engaging in ‘good natured misbehaviour’ can develop your breadth and empathy as an artist and human being.

Core II with Ken Hall
Tuesdays 7-9pm
8 weeks starting March 10th
$240+HST
Early bird rate of $220 plus HST if you enroll by March 5th

Core III
Core III focuses on putting everything together to tell short stories. Creating a context, finding agreement, developing subtext out of that, identifying character wants and needs, raising stakes, playing your role, and finding the ending. We continue to stress the important of bold choices, the internal the logic of the scene, how playing bad people make great drama, and more. Let’s make some magic.
